Massage Legislation:

A voluntary registration system has come into existence since Sept 2009. Practitioners are advised to go to CAMTC.org and download the full 13 pages of their mandate.  The state registration system will allow you to bypass the current requirements for ‘massage permits’ monitored by police and health departments. Many employers are already requiring that prospective and current employees have their California state certificate.  Many cities are accepting this certificate in lieu of registering and paying a yearly fee to the police or health department. You will still need a city business license to do business within your city.
